11 Best American Made Clothing Brands

11 American Made Fashion Brands | Capital Lane

11 brands that support ethical manufacturing, align with your values, and proudly produce their goods right here in the USA.

The Challenge

It’s harder than it sounds to find brands that aren’t “American companies” in name only. With historically American brands like Levi’s and Ford going woke, the search is almost impossible nowadays. Plus, with an LLC costing around $100 in 2023, almost anyone can put together a few branding assets and start an “American company”, but still cut corners and source their materials from cheaper, foreign manufacturers.

The Shift

We get it, fast fashion can be tempting with its allure of cheaper, mass-produced options. But here’s the exciting truth: you don’t have to compromise on style or variety! There are plenty of American-made brands that offer everything you love and more, right here in the States.

The Win (For All)

Ready to make the switch? We did the digging so you don’t have to! Below you’ll find a comprehensive list of companies that are genuinely American brands, producing their goods right here in the USA.

So now, you can shop with confidence, knowing that your hard-earned money supports American jobs, stateside manufacturing, safe working environments, and fair wages. And for those who share my values, I’ve also included a few brands that not only uphold American values but also support Christian principles – a win-win!

1. American Giant

Based in: Middlesex, NC
Best for: Adult hoodies, tops, bottoms, dresses, loungewear, accessories
Price range: $$-$$$

Recently completing a brand campaign titled, “The American Made Tour”, American Giant took a good ol’ cross-country road trip to visit five different companies who are equally as proud to make their products here in the USA. Not only has American Giant been crowned the creator of “the greatest hoodie ever”, they stand out for their genuine commitment to both quality and drive to keep manufacturing stateside.

By sourcing exclusively American cotton, they not only ensure exceptional quality but also support local farmers in their communities. In fact, most of their products are made with cotton grown just miles away from their sewing facility in Middlesex, North Carolina (hey neighbor!) This close connection with local farmers reflects their passion for making a positive impact on the environment and supporting their community – plus, they’re not messing around when it comes to quality! I’ve had my pair of ‘classic sweatpants’ for almost 5 years now and they’re still as good as new.

2. COL1972

Beyond sourcing incredible clothing, they also give back generously to organizations that protect life. Through their philanthropic efforts, COL1972 donates 10% of all sales to pregnancy centers and women in need. Their commitment to supporting crisis pregnancy centers extends to providing essentials like bottles, diapers, and clothing to hundreds of families in the USA. Plus, COL1972 actively partners with churches and schools to facilitate students’ participation in the March for Life in Washington D.C. (Love!)

11. New Balance

Based in: Boston, MA
Products:
Footwear, activewear
Price range:
$$-$$$

Yes, the brand we all know (and still) love, New Balance! One of the last “American made” brands that have stayed true to its mission of manufacturing stateside.

Today, New Balance is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, and remains one of the few major (non-woke) athletic shoe companies to manufacture a significant portion of its footwear in the United States. While the company also has manufacturing facilities in other countries to meet global demand, they have retained a strong commitment to domestic production with its “MADE in the USA collection”, a line of shoes crafted in the company’s facilities in New England (miss you Maine outlet!)

My favorite streetwear options from the MADE in the USA collection are the 998s990 v4s, and 998 cores – all perfect to throw on with anything for a put-together errands look!
